Santhome Fellowship & Associate Missionaries

You are welcome to join ‘Santhome-Fellowship’ of MST and participate in the evangelization activities of the Church through MST

Santhome Fellowship is the fraternity of missionaries who join hands with MST, committing themselves to the work of evangelization within their limited circumstances of life. It is a co-ordination of all friends of MST, including missionary collaborators, ex-seminarians, benefactors etc. Without any reciprocal obligation, Santhome- Fellowship invites alliance and support from any Catholic faithful to collaborate with MST, for the cause of evangelization.

Santhome Fellowship is a movement towards developing a culture of participatory missionary work in the Syro Malabar Church. At present the programme is focused on gathering lay persons who are full of missionary enthusiasm. They are slowly introduced into the activities of MST and interested people are invited to visit the mission centres and activities. Many of them have come forward to different levels of missionary collaboration.

Purpose of the Fellowship

• Make the mission work more participatory.
• Create greater missionary responsibility among the members of the Syro-Malabar Church.
• Encourage and Promote missionary vocations and form lay missionaries
• Familiarize mission territories and missionary activities to the fellow faithful
• Recruit associate missionaries to MST

Activities of Santhome Fellowship<

• Regular prayer support for the Missions
• Encouraging more missionary vocations to Priesthood and Religious Life
• Visit to mission territories
• Financial Contribution to support missionary activities
• Adopting young men to support their formation to priesthood
• Adopting mission centers/ministries
• Direct collaboration by being in the missions for a short span of time

Associate Missionaries of MST
Santhome Fellowship members are given the privilege to be associate missionaries of MST, after adequate missionary orientation and mission exposure. The Director General of MST accepts the missionary associates through a promise of association and they enjoy the privileges of associate missionaries according to the guidelines. Imbibing the spirit of MST, the associate missionaries are given the opportunity to fulfill their missionary obligation of bearing witness to Christ and they sanctify their lives by participating in the missionary apostolates of MST (Constitution No. 7) in accordance with the same guidelines.
