Missionary Meet in Sangli Mission on 8-02-15 ( Silver Jubilee of Sangli Mission MST)

His Beatitude Mar George Cardinal Alanchery was given a warm welcome by the priests and sisters of Sangli Mission and there after the missionary meet started at 10 am by lighting the lamp. Fr Jose Cheriampanattu welcomed all the dignitaries to the function. Fr George  Kavukattu, one of the founding members of Sangli Mission shared about the hardships and difficulties he had to undergo in the initial stages of Sangli Mission and he is very happy to see Sangli Mission as a fully grown up tree, giving comfort to lakhs of people by Social work, pastoral care, education, special education etc.

 

His Beatitude Mar George Cardinal Alanchery, in his message appreciated the commitment and dedication of priests and sisters of Sangli Mission and Syro Malabar Church is proud to see the wonderful works done by the Sangli Mission. He urged the Missionaries not to be disappointed in the present situation where there are lot of oppositions and hardships. Thereafter many dignitaries felicitated the gathering and some of them shared their experience in Sangli Mission. It was a moment of gratitude and thanksgiving to the Almighty for showering His blessings upon Sangli Mission. 140 priests and 160 sisters attended the meeting

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Pottanany passed away

Rev. Father Sebastian Pottanany, one of the pioneer members of our Society, is no more. He was called to eternal reward at 03:27 a.m.  on 24-05-2014. The mortal remains will be brought to Deepti Aaram at 11 am on 26th May 2014. The funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on the same day at Deepti Bhavan, Melampara.

Minor Orders Granted to Ruhalaya Theology Students

Ujjain, March 31, 2014. Minor Orders were given to students of various classes of theology course in Ruhalaya theological College. Bishop Mar Sebastian Vadakel and Rt. REe. Dr Thottumarickal officiated the functions. First year theologians received Karoyusa, second theologians received Heupatiakonusa (sub-diaconate) and the third year theologians were ordained deacons. 

Ten MST Deacons also took their perpetual promise before Rev. Fr Peter Vattappara, the Rector of Ruhalaya delegated by the Director General. Thus it was a great day of fulfilment for Ruahalaya as another academic year was just completed. 

 

Mother of Father Thomas Chirayil is no more

Mrs Rosa Chirayil (94 years), beloved mother of Rev. Fr Thomas Chirayil, passed awayon March 6, 2015 at 07:30 p.m. The funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday (March 9, 2015) at Sts Peter and Paul Forane Church, Elanji in the diocese of Palai.
